As an Early Years Setting, we have remained open throughout the whole of the pandemic to support the children of fellow key workers, and to maintain a little normality for them.
As of June, we were able to open our setting further and welcome back more of our lovely children and their families.
We have introduced a stricter hygiene routine for ALL of our children, including babies. This means more regular and thorough hand washing, cleaning of equipment and toys more frequently, and limiting the amount of children who have contact with each other.
We have requested that parents do not enter the rooms which we have classed as our 'safe zones', and instead they are welcomed into the reception area where they can wait whilst a member of the team gets their child ready (coat, shoes and bag etc), and feedback will then take place at handover.
Additionally to this, we have asked that our parents try to come alone so that we can manage the amount of bodies that are entering the building.
Any child that shows any of the symptoms is sent home and we do not allow them back to the setting for 10 days (isolation period August 2020) or unless they have a test with negative results and we are shown the proof.
This also applies to staff and the children's families.
We have maintained educational activities where possible to continue supporting our children's development, and we have also tried to ensure that the nursery stays a safe and fun environment for them to be!
