Our pre school room is set up to help the children learn and develop. Stories are a big part of our day, along with lots of singing, and playing. All children have key group time each day, where they have an adult initiated activity that challenges them and supports their next steps.
Our setting as a whole loves to take advantage of the local area. We often have walks to the local library, go exploring the the small forested area near our setting, and visit Bilston town centre to take advantage of the events that are on. We believe that this contributes to the children developing life skills, such as road safety, stranger danger, learning about other cultures etc.
In pre-school, we encourage the children to be independent as much as possible. This includes self service at lunch time, being responsible for washing their own hands before food and after using the toilet etc, using the drinking station to access their own cup and fill it with water and much more.
